Is it really free to list my tools?
Yes — listing is completely free and we never charge owners a fee. A service fee is added to the renter’s total — it never comes out of your payout. No subscriptions, no upfront costs.
What happens if a renter damages my tool?
Every rental is backed by handi Protect up to £150 for eligible accidental damage or theft. Report it through the app and our UK team handles the rest — typically resolved within 3–4 days.
Can I decline rentals I'm not comfortable with?
Yes — every request is yours to approve or decline. You can see the renter's verified ID status, past reviews, and what they're using the tool for before deciding. There's no penalty for declining. You can also pause your listing at any time. A renter is unable to progress with a booking if they arent fully verified.
What if the renter doesn't return my tool?
Report it as a no-return through the app. We chase the renter on your behalf, charge late fees, and if the tool’s still missing after 7 days, treat it as a theft issue — handi Protect reimburses the replacement value up to £150. Fewer than 0.3% of rentals end in a no return.
How does pricing work? Can I change it later?
You set your own daily price and deposit. When you list a tool, we suggest a price band based on what similar tools earn in your area — but you're free to ignore us. Change your price any time. Existing accepted bookings stay locked at the price they were booked at.
